A Better Scout Hall for Sandown
A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will transform an old, empty hall into a modern scouting facility in Edinburgh Reserve, Springvale, helping to meet the needs of local scouting groups in the south-eastern suburbs.
We’ll invest $200,000 in support, helping to upgrade bathrooms and other amenities, ensure disability access and give the hall a fresh coat of paint.
Scouting is growing in popularity in the south-eastern suburbs, with more young people getting involved in Scouts Victoria’s adventurous and fun programs, learning life skills and leadership.
Access to scouting activities supports young people’s development, creating opportunities for them to lead in their communities.
Scouts Victoria is one of the state’s largest youth organisations with a membership base of more than 23,000. Last year, Scouts Victoria celebrated their 15th consecutive year of membership growth.
Today’s funding builds on the 23 local Scouts projects the Labor Government has delivered, with $5.5 million in funding to build and upgrade scouting infrastructure.
Only a re-elected Labor Government will invest in our young people and their futures – because only Labor is doing what matters.
