Supporting Vision Australia Radio in Kooyong

A re-elected Labor Government will support the Vision Australia Radio Network in Kooyong to continue delivering their inclusive service for the local blind, low vision and print ready disabled communities.

We’ll provide a $60,000 grant to help them continue delivering key information to our community.

Since 1982, Vision Australia Radio Network has been operating, with an enthusiastic and passionate team of 300 volunteers, providing over 80 hours of radio reading and specialist programs each week.

Vision Australia Radio Network has a variety of Melbourne programs, including Talking Vision, Talking Tech, Hear This and the Seeing Eye Dogs Show, also available as podcasts to stream online.

This funding from a Labor Government will make sure they are well-equipped to continue to help local families and members of our community – ensuring every Victorian gets the support they need when they need it.

It builds on the massive investments in community support already delivered by the Labor Government, ensuring neighbourhoods have accessible wellbeing and support services close to home.

In sharp contrast, when it comes to delivering the vital support that people in our community rely on, Matthew Guy’s Liberals can’t be trusted. Their policy of cuts and closures would leave locals behind.

Only Labor will back the community organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.

Quote attributable to Labor Candidate for Malvern Darren Natale

“This investment will see the Vision Australia Radio Network in Kooyong getting the support they need closer to home, and will ensure hardworking staff and volunteers can keep doing what they do best – helping others.”
