Supporting Creatives in the Yarra Valley

Whether you work in the creative industries or are a lover of art, dance, film, fashion, games, music or theatre, we know how important creative experiences are in the lives of Victorians.

It’s a way to share stories, experience new and wonderful events and create incredible memories that will last a life time.

That’s why a re-elected Andrews Labor Government will continue to invest in creative experiences for every Victorian, including expanding opportunities in the Yarra Valley.

The Labor Government will deliver a $55,000 grant to support community art and entertainment in the Yarra Valley.

We will support Yarra Valley Arts Incorporated, to help continue the creative work of the Healesville-based art hub and gallery.

It adds to hundreds of thousands of dollars of support we have already provided for other local creative organisations across the region – including investments in the TarraWarra Museum of Art.

Victoria is the Creative State and we’re keeping it that way – backing the 305,000 Victorians employed in our creative industries.

Our major cultural institutions are the best in the country – playing a key role in continuing to inspire Victorians and attract national and international audiences with their innovating programming, attracting 11.6 million visitors in 2019-20.

Labor has increased funding for the creative industries to $670.1 million in 2021-22 compared to less than $476.2 million by Matthew Guy’s Liberals in their last year in government.

Our four-year Creative State 2025 Strategy places First Peoples first and builds on Victoria as it is; a diverse and thriving multicultural community that leads the nation as the cultural capital.
