A Stronger Warrnambool Community Garden

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will support Warrnambool Community Garden to keep educating people about locally and sustainably grown produce.

We’ll provide a $100,000 grant to help them continue to maintain their garden, growing and sharing organic food, while also bringing the community together.

Since being established in 2007 the group has converted a portable classroom into an energy-efficient space for meeting, cooking, and promoting permaculture while also transforming a former quarry site into a sustainable garden.

Funding from a Labor Government will make sure they are well-equipped to continue educating our local families and members of our community.

It builds on the massive investments in community support the Labor Government has already delivered.

In sharp contrast, when it comes to delivering the vital support that people in our community rely on, Matthew Guy’s Liberals can’t be trusted. Their policy of cuts and closures would leave locals behind.

Only a re-elected Labor Government will back the community organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.

“Warrnambool Community Garden is a small service but mighty group – giving everything they have to teach people about growing sustainable produce and permaculture. It’s why we’re going to make sure they have what they need to keep doing that great work.”

“So many people on the South West Coast know and love Warrnambool Community Garden and we’re proud to give back to them.”
