Support For FareShare to Expand Food Relief Services in Abbotsford
A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will support FareShare with $2.2 million to continue to provide nutritious meals to people across Victoria who need it most.
FareShare collects surplus quality food from supermarkets, wholesalers, farmers and other businesses that cannot be sold, and cooks it into nutritious meals. Their important work provides healthy food for locals and opportunities for volunteers to bond over passions for gardening and food.
FareShare’s charity kitchen volunteers and staff do incredible work for Victorians doing it tough. This support from the Labor Government builds on a $2.5 million funding boost provided in 2020 to help deliver more free, nutritious meals across Victoria.
We’ll make sure community organisations and charities are well-equipped to help local families and members of the community, ensuring every Victorian gets the help and support they need.
The Labor Government has always delivered on what matters for local communities, ensuring neighbourhoods have accessible wellbeing and support services close to home, and local community organisations have the support they need.
Labor is doing what matters – backing the important community organisations that help us all.
