More Support for Homeless & Rough Sleepers in Frankston
A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will deliver more support to homeless and rough sleepers in Frankston.
We’ll deliver a $500,000 grant to Frankston Zero so that more people can get the support they need to find secure housing and get back on their feet.
Launched in 2021, Frankston Zero was established by the Frankston City Strategic Housing and Homelessness Alliance as a local solution to supporting and addressing rough sleepers across Frankston. The holistic model of support includes mental health, family violence and trauma support, while working with the person to find secure housing.
The Labor Government is on track to deliver at least 16,000 social and affordable homes for Victorians by 2026 with the largest single investment by any state or territory government in Australia’s history.
Since the Big Housing Build was announced in November 2020, more than 1400 households have either moved or are getting ready to move into brand new homes. The construction boom has resulted in more than 20,000 jobs across Victoria, creating a much-needed boost to the economy as it recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Big Housing Build will boost our state’s social housing supply by 10 per cent, creating an average of 10,000 jobs per year over the four years of the program.
