A Stronger Murchison Men's Shed
A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will support the Murchison Men’s Shed to continue its work improving the health, wellbeing and connections of men in our community.
We’ll provide a $100,000 grant, helping the community hub provide a welcoming place where men can connect, socialise, learn new skills and work on common building projects together.
A small men’s shed that started in 2013, members of the Murchison hub get together for social connection and enjoy activities such as woodwork.
Funding from a Labor Government will help make sure the shed is well-equipped to continue supporting men to come together, improve their wellbeing and contribute to the community – ensuring every Victorian gets the support they need, when they need it.
It builds on the massive investments in community support already delivered by the Labor Government, ensuring locals have accessible wellbeing and support services close to home.
Labor is investing nearly $1 million in men’s sheds right across the state, including a grants program that provides funding to build new spaces or extend and refurbish existing workshops.
In sharp contrast, when it comes to delivering the vital support that people in our community rely on, Matthew Guy’s Liberals can’t be trusted. Their policy of cuts and closures would leave locals behind.
Only Labor will back the community organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.
