A Stronger Compassionate Friends Victoria
A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will support The Compassionate Friends Victoria (TCFV) to keep providing vital assistance to bereaved parents, siblings or grandparents after the loss of a loved one.
We’ll provide a $50,000 grant to help TCFV continue to provide lived experience to grieve, find healing and grow through their journey of deep pain following the death of a child.
For 44 years, the TCFV has supported hundreds of vulnerable families going through unimaginable tragedy. They have created a community network by assisting any bereaved person wishing to help others by training and nurturing them as volunteers to provide support to other members of the community.
Labor is doing what matters – backing the important community organisations that help us all.
We’ll make sure that TCFV are well-equipped to help local families and members of the community with the services they need in their time of grief.
The Labor Government has always delivered on what matters for local community groups, ensuring neighbourhoods have accessible wellbeing and support services close to home.
Only a re-elected Labor Government will back the community organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.

“The Compassionate Friends Victoria is a service with a big heart – giving everything they have to support families who have recently gone through the unspeakable tragedy of losing a child. It’s why we’re going to make sure they have what they need to keep supporting our local residents.”
