Delivering Better Health Care for Local Communities

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will deliver more support for healthAbility, giving local families the care they need close to home.

Member for Eltham Vicki Ward today announced Labor will invest $100,000 to give the health service a boost to local care.

Having quality healthcare for the local community is vital – giving people access to the best treatment and support, close to home.

The grant will help dedicated healthcare workers deliver the best care possible, including for occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, podiatry, counselling and exercise physiology patients.

The investment will also enable further support in areas like respite and carer support, home maintenance, meal preparation and transport.

Having access to community-based health solutions will also help keep our busy emergency departments for the sickest patients with the most urgent health needs.

The funding adds to dozens of initiatives Labor has already implemented to improve health outcomes in the Nillumbik community.

Labor has also invested in Carers Employment Support Grants in the region, to help unpaid carers to be supported into employment and help local patients.

Only a Labor Government will invest in the healthcare facilities and workers Victorians need – because only Labor is doing what matters.
