Surfing Victoria to Ride New Funding Wave
A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will help keep Surfing Victoria doing their much-loved work, backing surfers and the communities behind them with courses, events, coaching and community engagement programs.
We’ll provide a $100,000 grant to help Surfing Victoria to continue supporting the Surf Coast community with a range of inclusive programs and events that include free board rescue and CPR courses, Surf Her Way – an initiative that encourages women and girls to discover the joys of surfing – and the Victorian Indigenous Surfing Program.
For years Surfing Victoria has supported thousands of locals throughout Victoria’s iconic Surf Coast, providing the community with the essential support and training they need while cultivating the next generation of surfing superstars.
This important investment will make sure Surfing Victoria are well-equipped to keep helping local families, surfers and the communities they call home – ensuring every Victorian gets the support they need when they need it.
It builds on the massive investments in community support already delivered by Labor, ensuring neighbourhoods have accessible wellbeing and support services close to home.
In sharp contrast, when it comes to delivering the vital support that people in our community rely on, Matthew Guy’s Liberals will leave locals behind with their policy of cuts and closures. They just can’t be trusted to back local support services.
Only a re-elected Labor Government will back the community organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.
