Stronger Sea Scouts for Eltham
A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will ensure the 2nd Eltham Sea Scouts can continue to do great work locally.
We’ll invest $70,000 in support, helping them to continue to run engaging programs for young people in Eltham and surrounding suburbs.
For years, the 2nd Eltham Sea Scout group has supported thousands of young people, running an adventurous and fun program while also helping teach them life skills and leadership. The Sea Scouts offer a traditional scouting program with a strong focus on water activities.
Access to scouting activities supports young people’s development and growth by creating opportunities for them to lead in their own communities.
Scouts Victoria is one of the state’s largest youth organisations with a membership base of more than 20,000 young people and 5,000 adult volunteers. The number of young people participating in scouting activities has grown by 30 per cent in the last 10 years alone.
Today’s funding builds on the 23 local Scouts projects the Labor Government has delivered, with $5.5 million in funding to build and upgrade scouting infrastructure.
Only a re-elected Labor Government will invest in our young people and their futures – because only Labor will do what matters.
