Improving Community Sport for Gippsland East

Families in Gippsland East will enjoy new and upgraded facilities, thanks to a re-elected Andrews Labor Government.

We’ll invest up to $1.4 million towards four community sporting clubs and facilities in Gippsland East

This will include:

·         $800,000 for planning money towards the development of a new indoor sporting facility in Lakes Entrance.

·         $400,000 to Buchan Football & Netball Club for netball court upgrades.

·         $150,000 to the Bairnsdale Clay Target Club towards club upgrades.

·         $120,000 to the Mallacoota Gymnastics Club for equipment upgrades.

Local sport is the lifeblood of our region, bringing communities and families together.

That’s why the Labor Government is backing our sports clubs, families and communities by delivering better sports grounds and facilities.

We’ve invested more than $1.6 billion to upgrade and improve recreation reserves and sports grounds, delivering better playing surfaces, new scoreboards, lighting upgrades and changing facilities for clubs in every corner of the state – while at the same time, supporting local jobs.

Only a re-elected Labor Government will back the local sports clubs in our community – because only Labor will do what matters.
