Bigger And Better Multicultural Festivals

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will celebrate Victoria’s multicultural and multifaith communities by investing $12 million to support festivals and events.

Victorians come from more than 200 countries, speak 260 languages and follow 135 different faiths. Nearly half of all Victorians were born overseas, or have a parent who was born overseas.

It doesn’t matter where you’re from, what you look like, what you believe or what language you speak – in Victoria, we’re proud of our cultural diversity.

Multiculturalism makes our state stronger and more vibrant – and festivals and events are an important celebration of our diversity.

As part of Labor’s commitment, a grants process will open for community groups to apply for funding of application events and festivals.

Matthew Guy’s Liberals can’t be trusted to support multicultural communities – they only pretend to care in an election year.

Labor is doing what matters – celebrating Victoria’s cultural diversity by supporting community festivals and events.

Quotes attributable to Premier Daniel Andrews
