Backing Waverley Woodworkers in Glen Waverley
A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will support Waverley Woodworkers to keep providing the Glen Waverley community with professional woodworking tools and machines.
We’ll provide a $50,000 grant to help them invest in machinery and infrastructure to ensure they can continue to provide the community with the best equipment.
Waverley Woodworkers is home to a large workshop area with many workbenches, and a specialised sanding room. It’s a space that has something for everyone, whether you are making children’s toys or fine pieces of furniture.
The club is a community club and is run by volunteers and has been providing its workspaces to the community for years.
Only a Labor Government acknowledges the importance of volunteering. We’re laying the groundwork to promote, build and support all forms of volunteering through our Victorian Volunteer Strategy – a five-year action plan.
It builds on the massive investments in community support the Labor Government has already delivered ensuring every Victorian has access to the support they need when they need it.
In sharp contrast, when it comes to delivering the vital support that people in our community rely on, Matthew Guy’s Liberals can’t be trusted. Their policy of cuts and closures would leave locals behind.
Only Labor will back the community organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.
