A Bigger And Better ECCV

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will invest $3.5 million to make the Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria (ECCV) bigger and better.

Victorians come from more than 200 countries, speak 260 languages and follow 135 different faiths. Nearly half of all Victorians were born overseas, or have a parent who was born overseas.

Multiculturalism makes our state fairer and stronger – and the ECCV plays an integral role in stengthening our diversity.

As the peak body representing Victoria’s multicultural communities, this $3.5 million investment will support the ECCV to continue the work they do representing the many cultures and faiths who have made a home here in Victoria.

Labor has a proud record of supporting Victoria’s multicultural communities. Since coming to government we’ve invested more than $300 million in support for multicultural communities.

Matthew Guy’s Liberals can’t be trusted to support multicultural communities – they only pretend to care about communities in an election year.

Labor is doing what matters – celebrating Victoria’s cultural diversity by supporting community festivals and events, infrastructure and services.
