Backing Vital Support Services in Greenvale

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will support Good Samaritan Inn to continue important work ensuring women, young people and children experiencing family violence and homelessness have access to safe accommodation and support services.

We’ll provide a $50,000 grant towards helping them continue providing essential crisis, short-term and transitional accommodation for people experiencing family violence or homelessness.

Each year the Good Samaritan Inn provides practical and emotional support and case management to approximately 500 women, children and young people.

Labor’s investment will make sure they are well-equipped to continue to help local families and members of our community – ensuring every Victorian gets the support they need when they need it.

It builds on the massive investments in community support already delivered by the Labor Government, ensuring families have accessible wellbeing and support services close to home.

The Labor Government set up Australia’s first Royal Commission into Family Violence and has invested more than $3.7 billion to date to implement each of its 227 recommendations, so that victim survivors have the support they need, when and where they need it.

In sharp contrast, when it comes to delivering the vital support that people in our community rely on, Matthew Guy’s Liberals can’t be trusted. Instead, their policy of cuts and closures would leave locals behind.

Only a re-elected Labor Government will back the community organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.
