Backing the Centre that Delivers for Locals

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will back the Park Orchards Community House & Learning Centre to keep them doing what they do best, supporting local families.

We’ll provide a $60,000 grant to help them continue to bring the community together through social, recreational and learning activities.

For years Park Orchards has supported thousands of Victorians with development programs, courses and training from crafts and clubs, to childcare, first aid and nationally recognised training.

Funding from a Labor Government will make sure they are well-equipped to continue to help local families and members of our community – ensuring every Victorian gets the support they need when they need it.

It builds on the massive investments in community support already delivered by the Labor Government, ensuring neighbourhoods have accessible wellbeing and support services close to home.

In sharp contrast, when it comes to delivering the vital support that people in our community rely on, Matthew Guy’s Liberals can’t be trusted. Instead, their policy of cuts and closures would leave locals behind.

When Matthew Guy’s Liberals were last in government, they cut more than $1 billion from our education system –gutting TAFE, cutting funding for speech pathologists, psychologists and social workers in schools, and failing to invest in the new schools our growing state needed.

Only a re-elected Labor Government will back the community organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.

“Park Orchards is a small service but one with a big heart – giving everything they have to support local residents. It’s why we’re going to make sure they have what they need to keep delivering the services locals need.”

“Everyone in Park Orchards knows and loves the centre, they have been serving our community for years. We’re proud to give back to those who have given so much to us.”
