A Stronger Garfield Community Shop for Narracan
A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will support Garfield Community Shop to keep providing an important community service, helping locals re-use and recycle clothing and household goods while raising funds for charity.
We’ll provide a $100,000 grant to help them continue supporting our community.
Funding from a Labor Government will make sure they are well-equipped to continue to help local families and members of our community – ensuring every Victorian gets the support they need when they need it.
It builds on the massive investment in community support the Labor Government has already delivered, ensuring neighbourhoods have accessible wellbeing and support services close to home.
In sharp contrast, when it comes to delivering the vital support that people in our community rely on, Matthew Guy’s Liberals can’t be trusted. Their policy of cuts and closures will leave locals behind.
Only Labor will back the community organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.

"Labor is delivering what matters for vital community organisations like the Garfield Community Shop.”
Quote attributable to Labor Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing,
“When Matthew Guy’s Liberals were last in power, Victorians in need were ignored with four years of inaction. And if given the chance, that is what they will do again."
