A Stronger Bendigo Sports Star

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will support Bendigo Sports Star to keep celebrating local athletic achievements for many years to come. lkjlkj

We’ll provide a $50,000 grant so they can continue to support the best young athletes from across our community.

For 57 years, Bendigo Sports Star has given awards to hundreds of local athletes, encouraging our local sports stars to work hard and achieve their goals. Since Eaglehawk cyclist Frank McCaig won the first award in 1965, athletes from across Bendigo have been given the encouragement they need to continue pursuing their sporting dreams.

Bendigo Sports Star has also celebrated our local schools’ commitment to promoting health and wellbeing through their Healthiest Schools Award.

Funding from a re-elected Labor Government will make sure they are well-equipped to continue to help local families and members of our community – ensuring every Victorian has access to community sport.

It builds on the massive investments in community support already delivered by the Labor Government, ensuring neighbourhoods have all the support they need in accessing health and well-being services.

Only Labor will back the organisations that keep our community strong – because only Labor will do what matters.
