A Better Neighbourhood House for Beaufort

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will invest $800,000 to develop a masterplan for the conversion of the Old Beaufort Primary School and start early works.

The funding will be used to assess what restoration works are needed to make this once beautiful space a great place for Beaufort locals to get together.

Only a Labor Government will make sure community spaces in Pyrenees Shire are well equipped for families and community members to come together– ensuring every Victorian feels a sense of belonging and pride in their local neighbourhood.

These projects mean Victorians are more connected to their community, better placed to reach out and be supported by a network of volunteers, staff and other community members.

Since coming to government, we’ve invested in new and upgraded, parks, libraries, community halls and hubs right across our state.

In Ripon, we’ve invested in the restoration of the Rex Theatre in Charlton, the Stawell Boer War Memorial, the Avoca War Memorial and the Ballarat Avenue of Honour.

We’ve also funded repairs and improvements at local RSL branches including St Arnaud, Creswick-Smeaton, Clunes and Wedderburn Korong Vale.

Labor is doing what matters for local communities, ensuring our growing suburbs have the best parks, libraries, transport and support services close to home.

“The Old Beaufort Primary School will be another fantastic space for Beaufort locals to get together and feel at home – and that’s why we’re investing in this critical planning work to get this project moving.”
